SONDEX / Soldered Types A lower cost alternative of the classic type sealed plated heat exchangers are soldered plated heat exchangers. One more advantage brought by these type units is the ability to work in higher temperatures and pressure. Work principles are generally the same with sealed plated heat exchangers. But here copper solder material substitutes for seals. Stainless steel plates and the copper film used are baked together in high temperature under vacuum with the aim of soldering. The result obtained is a compact heat exchanger without seal. The Advantages of Soldered Heat Exchangers ; • Low cost; they constitute a low cost alternative because of being produced serially in standard sizes and their high heat transfer coefficient. • Working in high temperature and pressure; because of not having seals, such kind of heat exchangers can be in the temperatures between -180/+200 and in working pressures till 30 bar. • Low working weight; can be mounted on the line without needing any additional prop thanks to its so low weight. • Close temperature life and high heat transfer efficiency: because of the high end obtained in the plates, can enter to regimen in short time and increases the efficiency of the system it works.
